Welcome to the Landscape Ecology Group!

New course in Landscape Ecology at Stockholm University! Information in English / Swedish

Within the landscape ecology group we focus on the effects of landscape structure and dynamics on ecological processes and patterns. Our aim is to increase the knowledge on the ecology of landscapes in order to understand its effect on biodiversity, ecosystem services and sustainable natural resource management. We work interdisciplinarily, mainly encompassing physical and human geography, ecology, hydrology and geology. We use several different methods to analyse, visualise and model vegetation or animal distribution in time and space. Particularly, remote sensing and geographical information systems are important tools together with field data, aerial photos and old historical maps.

Here you can meet the team and contact us individually, see our publications, and browse available master thesis projects.
